These four Claret Wine glasses are part of Holmegaard’s “Danish Ships" series. These classic Danish glasses were designed by Per Lütken, an artist known for Danish modern aesthetics.
These hand-blown glasses feature a heavy thick glass, a distinctive wide and stable base, and a slightly flared bowl. They were launched in 1971 and have since been discontinued.
These glasses are in excellent condition. There are no chips, scratches, or cloudiness due to dishwasher residue. They measure 5 3/8 in tall and 3 in wide. They hold 10 oz.
These were designed by Per Lütken for the Danish glassworks company Holmegaard. Lütken (10 Nov 1916 – 10 Feb 1998) was a Danish glassmaker, most famous for his works at Holmegaard Glass Factory. He studied at the School of Danish Crafts from 1932 to 1938. He designed more than 3000 pieces of glass for Holmegaard, a company for whom he worked as artistic director from 1942 until his death in 1998.
